Pay It Forward Week – Day 1: Tiffany Allee

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the first day of Pay It Forward Week. For those who missed the previous post, you can read all about The Cause and The Rules here. Just a quick reminder, for every commenter who purchases my books, or any one of this week’s authors, and lets me know in the comments, I’m donating $3 per book to Troops First Foundation.

In keeping with the theme of Paying It Forward, today belongs to Tiffany Allee. She’s a friend, beta reader, and one heck of a great writer. If you love Romance, any variety, please add this lady to your To Be Read list. More about her and her books at the bottom of this post.

And now, without further ado, I’ll hand things over to Tiffany!

Hi everyone! I’m so happy to be here for Josh’s Pay-It-Forward event. What a wonderful idea, and what an amazing cause he’ll be contributing to this week.

Because I’m a writer, and this is a writer’s blog, it made sense to me to write a post today about—you guessed it—writing. Honest, this post does relate to paying it forward—even though I can almost guarantee it’ll be a little rambly.

I wouldn’t be a writer if not for other amazing writers paying it forward. One of these writers happens to be hosting me today.

Writing is weird. It’s a very solitary act, and one that leads us to live in our own heads most of the time. Which makes it all the more important to reach out in ways like Josh is doing here this week.

When I started considering seriously pursuing writing, I was lucky enough to find my way to the Absolute Write forums. There, in a very cool place called the Cantina, I happened upon a group of spec fiction writers. For me, as a brand new writer (or, at least, a writer who was brand new to the concept of taking such things seriously), it was an amazing discovery. Here was a place where real writers (in my mind at the time, that meant published) actually chatted with the rest of us.  Even better, it was a place where I could connect with aspiring writers who had the same dream I did—to write publishable fiction.

I was lucky enough to meet people who still remain my friends today. And I was so fortunate to find other writers who were willing to read my work, critique it, and let me do the same for them so we could all help each other to grow and learn. And I likely wouldn’t be writing fiction today (at least not for anyone but myself) if not for the awesome people I connected with there.

Okay, scratch that, if not for the people I was lucky enough to meet, I definitely wouldn’t be writing today. And I can’t even imagine that reality.

A huge thank you to Josh for bringing to light something that we should be all be trying to do more of, and for highlighting a very worthy cause with the Troops First Foundation.

To help Josh support this great concept and an even greater cause, I’d like to offer a $10 Amazon gift card to a random commenter. To enter, tell us about someone who has helped you, or about your cat, or just say hello.

P.S. Extra points for pictures of your cat.

P.P.S. Okay the points thing was a lie, but I do love cat pictures.

Thanks for reading, all! And for helping support such a great cause.

Josh, I was actually asking about the $10 gift card Tiffany mentioned above…

In any case, I want to support the charity. Since I already have Undead Chaos, Regan’s vamp series and Steve’s Drynn series, I just went ahead and bought Summoned Chaos from the Carina site. I’m looking forward to reading more of Marcus’s adventures.
